New group’s name and purpose
On 24th November 2021, we met to discuss what the new group's name and purpose might be.
On 24th November 2021, we met to discuss what the new group’s name and purpose might be. There followed a discussion relating to issues of concern, such as:
- national sovereignty;
- seizing opportunities for the UK to flourish;
- transparency and accountability in politics, media and other institutions/corporations;
- the green agenda;
- free speech.
The principal shared concern of the group is that we all want to live in a United Kingdom which is secure, can flourish, and will enable its citizens to share a good quality of life, with minimal interference.
We discussed ways in which we might have a small influence upon that vision, including making ourselves aware of what helps the UK, and what hinders it.
We deferred choosing a new name so that our group’s identity could evolve.
