We are the founding group for Politics in Pubs in the UK and normally meet up on the fourth Tuesday of each month at The Welcome Inn, Bury Old Road, Whitefield, Manchester, M45 6TA.

Occasionally we have special meetings at other dates and times to fit in with availability of guest speakers – details will be specified in each meeting announcement.

The official part of each meeting takes place between 7.30 to 9.30pm but attendees often stay later for a general social discussion. All are welcome. Find our more about us on our About page.

Getting here

The Welcome Inn is just off junction 17 of the M60.  The pub has free car parking for patrons but you must register your car at the bar when you arrive to avoid a fine.

The nearest Metro tram station is Besses o’ th’ Barn (on the Bury line). When you come out of the station turn left and walk over the motorway bridge – The Welcome Inn is on the other side of the road, a five minute walk from the tram station.

The 135 bus travels from Piccadilly Gardens in Manchester along the A665 towards Bury.  Alight at Kirkhams, Bury Old Road/opposite Walker Avenue (near Kids Planet Nursery).  Walk back towards Manchester (towards the pelican crossing), and you will see the pub on your right (two minute walk).
